Build a career in Vietnam

A practical route for European specialists, managers and internationally experienced professionals — from market fit to offer, permit and landing plan.

The clear answer

The strongest candidates usually bring scarce technical knowledge, regional leadership, international customer access or experience that transfers into a multinational team. Secure the role and sponsor before building the move around it.

What matters first

01

Market fit

Translate European experience into a Vietnam-relevant business problem, not a generic CV.

02

Total package

Compare net pay, housing, insurance, school, flights, bonus and tax support.

03

Permit sponsor

Confirm which entity employs you and who owns the work-permit process.

04

Language edge

English may be enough for some teams; practical Vietnamese expands trust and local-facing options.

Your sequence

1

Choose a role thesis

Pick one sector, function and level where your evidence is strongest.

2

Search direct

Use official employer pages, specialist recruiters, chambers and warm introductions.

3

Audit the offer

Model the complete package in dong and euros before accepting.

4

Sequence the move

Permit, insurance, temporary housing and banking follow the signed role.

Next step

Turn orientation into a plan

FAQ

Should I move before finding work?

Usually not. A sponsor-backed offer makes immigration, insurance and housing much easier to sequence.

Will German help?

It can differentiate you in German-linked manufacturing, engineering, services and customer roles, but it rarely replaces strong English and role expertise.

Orientation only, not individual legal, tax or financial advice. Rules and personal circumstances can change; obtain qualified advice before consequential decisions.
